Columbia River Gorge

Two Saturdays this summer, WAKA and Windance are bringing the folding Glide to the water. Free to ride, no booking — just turn up.

Sat · Jul 25 — The Hatch Sat · Aug 1 — Waterfront Park 1–5 PM · Free to ride

There's only so much a spec sheet can tell you. You can read that the Glide is all-carbon, that it folds in half, that it comes in five sizes — but none of that lands until you've felt it fold down in your hands, carried it to the water's edge, and put it on foil. So this summer we're doing the simplest thing we can think of: bringing the boards to the Gorge and letting you ride.

We're teaming up with our friends at Windance in Hood River for two demo afternoons on the Columbia River — one of the best stretches of reliable wind anywhere in the world. Every size of the Glide will be there, along with the crew to set you up. Bring your own foil and wing or parawing; we've got the boards and leashes. See details below.

Two dates, two spots

Pick whichever Saturday suits you — or come to both. Both run 1–5 PM and both are completely free to ride.

Steady wind and great swells make the Hatchery the classic spot to feel the Glide come alive. Plenty of room on the water and on the beach.

Right in town on the Hood River waterfront — an easy afternoon to swing by between sessions, with the whole range set up and ready to try.

What to bring

We've got the boards and leashes, plus someone to walk you through it. Bring your own foil and wing or parawing, and whatever you'd normally sail in.

01Your favourite foil and your wing or parawing — the boards and leashes are on us.
02A wetsuit and whatever you'd normally wear on the water.
03An impact vest and helmet if you use them — a few spares on hand, but bring your own if you can.
04Water, sun cover, and a towel — Gorge afternoons run warm and bright.
05Curiosity. Whether you're foiling already or have never touched a board, you're welcome.

Mark the Saturday that suits you and turn up. Want to plan ahead or ask a question? Drop us a line — otherwise we'll see you there.
