A 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, backed by real people — we repair or replace, and cover return shipping when the fault is ours.
Every WAKA Glide is built to be ridden hard and travelled with. This limited warranty covers you against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship — so you can fold, fly and ride with confidence. Here's exactly what's covered, for how long, and how to make a claim if you ever need one.
Every WAKA Glide carries a one-year (12-month) limited warranty against manufacturing defects, for the original buyer.
Covered: genuine manufacturing defects in the all-carbon board, hull and lamination, the TravelFold hinge and locking mechanism, and the titanium fasteners.
Not covered: normal wear (scratches, scuffs, pad wear), impact or collision damage, heat damage, and folding or storing the board with foot straps installed.
Damage in transit by an airline or courier isn't covered by the warranty. File a claim with the carrier first (they're liable) and photograph the board and packaging, then send us the details and we'll help with parts or a repair quote.
To make a claim, contact us with your order or serial number and a couple of photos of the issue. A human reviews it, usually within a day or two; if it's a covered defect we repair or replace it and cover return shipping.

01What's covered
Your limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal riding and travel use. If something we built isn't right, we'll put it right.
- The all-carbon board, hull and lamination
- The TravelFold™ hinge and locking mechanism
- Titanium fasteners and reinforced bulkhead inserts
- Factory finish, bonding and structural integrity
Cover is for the original buyer and begins on the delivery date of your board.
02Coverage period
The WAKA Glide carries a 1-year limited warranty from delivery against manufacturing defects in the board, hinge and locking hardware. The warranty is available to the original buyer only — any resale of the board voids it.

03What isn't covered
A folding foil board lives a hard life. The things below are normal wear, or outside our control, and aren't covered:
- Normal wear — scratches, scuffs, faded graphics and deck-pad wear
- Impact damage — collisions, hard landings and excessive jumping (always land with enough support from your wing)
- Bottom contact — foil-box or hinge-mechanism damage from riding in water shallower than knee-deep
- Extreme heat — leaving the board in a hot car or in direct sun for long periods
- Folded with straps or objects on the hinge — always fold and store with foot straps removed and the hinge clear
- Modifications, unauthorised repairs or non-WAKA parts
- Loss, theft, or cosmetic marks that don't affect how it rides
Care that keeps cover valid — keep the board in its protective sleeve when it's not in use.
04Travel & airline damage
We built the Glide to travel, and we know bags take a beating. Damage caused in transit by an airline or courier isn't covered by this warranty — but we're not going to leave you stranded.
- Photograph the board and packaging before and after you travel
- File a claim with the carrier first — they're liable for transit damage
- Send us the details and we'll help with assessment, parts or a repair quote
Best protection there is — travelling with the Rolling WAKA bag, and it makes carrier claims much simpler too.
05Making a claim
No phone trees, no forms in triplicate. Contact us before returning a board so we can find the fastest fix:
- Get in touch at hello@waka.surf or through Viento with your order or serial number
- Send a few photos of the issue and a line on what happened
- We'll assess it — usually within a day or two — and tell you the next step
- If it's covered, we repair or replace it and cover return shipping
06Repairs, parts & replacements
Where a defect is covered, we'll repair the board or, if needed, replace it with the same or a comparable model. The hinge, fasteners and fin hardware are serviceable — many issues are a quick parts swap, not a new board.
Out of warranty? We still sell spare hardware and offer paid repairs. We'd far rather keep your Glide on the water than see it retired early.
07Your statutory rights
This limited warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your rights under the consumer law of your country. Nothing here limits any non-excludable guarantees you're entitled to.
Where local law requires longer or broader cover than stated here, that cover applies.
